This weekend FSU sent two of the strongest teams in its history to compete at the 30th AMTA National Championship Tournament. After three days and four rounds of competition in Orlando, FL, both teams returned to Tallahassee victorious. Team Garnet placed 5th in the Jacobs division and Team Gold received an Honorable Mention in the Eleazor division–tying in ballots won with three other teams, including the 10th place team. In addition, Matthew Covert won his second consecutive All-American Attorney award for his performance on the defense side, and Justin Nipper took home his second All-American Witness award for his portrayal of the defendant, Whit Bowman. At FSU’s only second appearance at the National Championship Tournament, the record of the teams this weekend placed both Garnet and Gold firmly in the top 25 teams in the nation for 2014.

The members of both teams would like to thank Ohio State, Harvard, Rhodes, George Washington, UC Irvine, Colorado College, Columbia, and South Dakota for eight fantastic, challenging, and fun rounds. Can’t wait to see you all next year!
